The bottom line

The gold standard for multi-location listing management, but cost and lock-in make it overkill for single-location small businesses.

What it really is

Yext — enterprise business listings and local SEO management platform.

Our take

Yext is the market leader for syndicating business data across 80+ directories, powering local SEO for multi-location brands and enterprises. The DB lists $10/mo which is incorrect — SMB plans start at $199/year and enterprise deployments scale well beyond that. The DB price_tier of 'free_trial' also misrepresents what is fundamentally a paid annual subscription product, though a free trial is available.

Why we rate it

Yext's breadth of directory integrations and its knowledge graph architecture make it uniquely powerful for brands where inconsistent NAP data meaningfully hurts local rankings. The AI review management layer adds real operational leverage at scale.

The catch

Annual lock-in means listing accuracy reverts if you cancel — you don't own the updates pushed to directories. Per-location pricing at enterprise scale gets very expensive, and the interface carries a steep learning curve.

Best for
Multi-location retailers and restaurant chains managing listings at scale
Enterprise marketers needing a single source of truth for brand data across directories
Brands combining listing syndication with AI-assisted review management
Not good for
Single-location small businesses with tight budgets
Teams that want to pick and pay only for specific directories
Organizations needing to retain listing ownership after contract ends
Friction report
Time to value
Moderate — initial data onboarding and directory verification take days to weeks; listing propagation is not instant across all 80+ sources.
Scale breakpoint
Per-location pricing at 50+ locations pushes into custom contract territory, requiring procurement negotiation and longer sales cycles.
Walled garden
High — listing data is managed exclusively through Yext's platform; canceling subscription causes listings to revert or go unmanaged across directories.
