The bottom line

Powerful brand-listening platform, but the 2025 pivot to a single $599/mo enterprise plan makes it a hard sell for SMBs.

Conversion Gems editorial verdict
From $599/mo (Company Plan)
Features8/10
8 - best-in-class source breadth (social, news, blogs, forums, 75+ review sites) with Boolean search and sentiment; loses a point post-publishing-feature retirement.
Value4/10
4 - $599/mo single plan is steep; the old freemium tiers made it accessible but are gone, sharply narrowing the addressable audience.
Ease of use6/10
6 - clean UI and real-time alerts are intuitive; Boolean query setup and onboarding via account manager add friction.
Ecosystem7/10
7 - integrates with Slack, Zapier, and major social platforms; Agorapulse pairing fills the publish/engage gap; API is a paid add-on.
Support8/10
8 - dedicated account manager and custom onboarding at the Company tier is enterprise-grade support.

What it really is

Mention — brand and social media listening platform for real-time web monitoring.

Our take

Mention tracks brand mentions, competitor activity, and industry keywords across social media, news, blogs, forums, and 75+ review sites. Note significant DB corrections: the catalogue lists $49/mo freemium pricing, but Mention discontinued all self-serve tiers in July 2025 after being acquired by Agorapulse via court-ordered receivership (April 2025). The only available plan is now the Company Plan at $599/mo. Additionally, Mention retired its social publishing and engagement features on January 30, 2026 — it is now a pure listening and analytics tool, not an SEO tool as the DB category suggests.

Why we rate it

Mention's monitoring breadth — spanning social platforms, news, forums, and 75+ review sites — remains genuinely comprehensive post-acquisition. Boolean search, sentiment analysis, and white-label reporting give enterprise teams real depth. The Agorapulse acquisition stabilizes the product long-term.

The catch

Pricing jumped dramatically in mid-2025 from a $49/mo entry point to a $599/mo minimum — pricing out all SMBs and solopreneurs overnight. Social publishing features are gone; you'll need Agorapulse separately for engagement workflows.

Best for
Enterprise PR and comms teams tracking brand reputation at scale
Agencies needing competitor benchmarking and white-label reporting
Organizations requiring review-site monitoring (Trustpilot, Glassdoor, Amazon) alongside social
Not good for
SMBs or solopreneurs — $599/mo minimum is prohibitive
Teams needing social publishing or content scheduling in one tool
SEO-focused workflows (mislabeled in DB; Mention is brand monitoring, not SEO)
Friction report
Time to value
Moderate — free trial available, Boolean alert setup has a learning curve, and onboarding relies on a dedicated account manager at the Company tier.
Scale breakpoint
50,000 mention cap per month; heavy-volume brands or agencies tracking many clients will need custom arrangements.
Walled garden
Moderate — data and reports live inside Mention; CSV/PDF exports exist but historical data portability is limited without API (paid add-on).
