The bottom line

The gold standard for Microsoft-centric organizations wanting deeply integrated employee engagement surveys — but priced and gated for enterprise buyers only.

Conversion Gems editorial verdict
From $2/user/mo (50-seat min, annual)
Features9/10
9 - best-in-class pulse surveys, AI manager nudges, onboarding/exit/DEI templates, and Workplace Analytics integration.
Value6/10
6 - $2/user/mo is competitive for enterprise, but 50-seat floor and M365 dependency inflate true TCO for smaller orgs.
Ease of use6/10
6 - intuitive survey builder for HR admins, but enterprise SSO setup, Azure AD provisioning, and Teams deployment add meaningful onboarding friction.
Ecosystem9/10
9 - deep native integrations with Teams, M365, Viva Insights, and Viva Pulse; unmatched for Microsoft shops.
Support8/10
8 - dedicated Microsoft enterprise support, extensive documentation, and people-science advisory resources on paid tiers.

What it really is

Microsoft Viva Glint — enterprise employee engagement and pulse survey platform inside the Microsoft Viva suite.

Our take

Originally an independent HR-tech startup acquired by LinkedIn in 2018 for ~$400M, Glint is now fully rebranded as Microsoft Viva Glint and embedded in the Microsoft 365 / Viva ecosystem. The DB lists this at $4/user/month and labels the price tier as 'free_trial' — both are wrong. The actual standalone entry price is $2/user/month (annual, 50-seat minimum), with no self-serve free trial; prospects access it via a Microsoft sales demo. It is squarely an enterprise HR platform, not a community engagement tool.

Why we rate it

Glint's people-science methodology, built over a decade, is the most mature in the category. The Microsoft integration means survey nudges, action plans, and analytics can surface inside Teams — reducing the 'survey black hole' problem that plagues standalone HR tools.

The catch

Hard minimum of 50 seats and enterprise-only procurement make this inaccessible for SMBs or teams wanting a quick self-serve trial. Deep value requires Microsoft 365 infrastructure; standalone deployments feel undercooked.

Best for
Enterprises already running Microsoft 365 and Teams
HR and People Ops teams wanting AI-assisted manager action planning
Organizations needing compliant, scientific-grade engagement benchmarking
Not good for
Small businesses or teams under 50 employees
Companies not in the Microsoft ecosystem seeking a lightweight survey tool
Teams needing a self-serve free trial before committing
Friction report
Time to value
Slow: enterprise sales cycle required; implementation and configuration with HR team typically takes weeks before first survey launches.
Scale breakpoint
Per-user costs grow linearly; at 1,000+ seats, negotiated enterprise agreements become essential. Reporting complexity also increases at large scale.
Walled garden
High: survey data, analytics, and action plans are tightly coupled to Microsoft Viva and Azure AD; migrating away requires significant data export effort.
