What it really isKagi — privacy-first, ad-free search engine with an integrated multi-model AI assistant.
Our takeKagi is a subscription-funded search engine delivering ad-free, tracking-free results with a built-in AI assistant (Quick and Research modes) powered by flagship models including Claude, GPT-4o, Gemini, and DeepSeek on the Ultimate tier.
The Professional tier costs $10/mo. Kagi offers only a 100-search/100-interaction free trial, not a perpetual free tier.
Why we rate itThe only search product that bundles genuinely ad-free, high-quality web results with multi-model AI assistant access at a transparent flat rate — no data-harvesting trade-off.
The catchPaid-only model after the 100-search trial is a psychological barrier; Starter's 300-search cap is too low for heavy daily users who must step up to $10/mo; not every user will perceive quality gains over free alternatives.

Not good for
  • Casual users content with free search engines who are not concerned about ad tracking
  • Budget-sensitive users unwilling to pay for search after the 100-query trial expires
  • Teams needing collaborative or enterprise-scale search tooling with admin controls
