What it really is

Linkby — performance PR marketplace connecting ecommerce brands with 600+ premium publishers on a pay-per-click model.

Our take

Linkby is a performance PR and native content platform, not a traditional creator marketplace. Brands pay only for clicks (CPC from $1–$2/click) with zero subscription or signup fees. DB had price_tier as 'free_trial' and pricing as 'Freemium' — both incorrect; Linkby is purely usage-based. Publishers (400–600+ outlets) write editorial-style content and get paid per valid click delivered. A $15M Series B in July 2025 is funding U.S. expansion and a GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) positioning pivot.

Why we rate it

Linkby flips traditional PR economics: instead of a $5K–$15K monthly retainer with no guaranteed coverage, you allocate a CPC budget and pay only for verified reader engagement. The 600+ publisher network spans premium media outlets, newsletters, and creators — making this one of the more credible performance-PR options available.

The catch

Campaign minimums of $2,500–$10,000 per publisher mean this isn't cheap for small budgets. Publisher editorial control means you can't dictate exact messaging. Volume and reach depend heavily on publisher opt-in for your campaign brief.

Best for
Ecommerce and DTC brands wanting editorial coverage at scale
Performance marketers seeking PR outcomes tied to traffic metrics
Brands looking to boost AI/GEO search visibility via publisher content
Not good for
Very small brands with budgets under $2,500 per campaign
B2B SaaS companies needing technical trade-press placements
Brands that need full control over editorial messaging and tone
Friction report
Time to value
Moderate: campaigns can go live in 48–72 hours after brief submission, but publisher opt-in and content creation add time before clicks flow.
Scale breakpoint
Publisher budget caps ($2,500–$10,000 per outlet) mean scaling reach requires managing multiple publisher relationships and campaigns simultaneously.
Walled garden
Moderate: content lives on publisher properties (not yours), and campaign analytics are tracked within Linkby's dashboard. Affiliate platform integrations and UTM support ease data portability.
